Description

PC Fan Blower Mod / Noctua Desk Fan

With this mod you can convert your 120mm PC fan into an adjustable desk fan.

The design is based on the recently released Noctua Desk Fan, but if you have a 3D printer you can turn any 120mm PC fan into a silent desk fan.

The only parts needed apart from the fan are 4 x M3x35 & 4x M3 nuts.

The screws to adjust the fan are also printed.

Slightly modifying my needs to the fan. I made it into a chimney for my home lab server. Thanks for posting.

the model is great, but ended up making my own print profile: fixed the screws (one is inverted now: they fit) added a plate with splitted screws so they're a lot stronger all pieces with threads print with 0.1 so they work properly all other pieces with 0.2 so print time keeps tamed, even when on the same plate Btw: I've printed and used the splitted/pegged screws successfully, those are strong and don't break when torquing the hell out of them 😁

Replying to @Sakul :
I just printed it, the screws are not fixed. One female thread is right-handed and the other one is left but both screws are right handed.

Couple quick tips for the screws! 1. Only 1 screw file is provided. Design requires one left-hand thread and one right-hand thread. Import, copy, and mirror the second one so you have one of each. 2. Screws printed vertically in one piece can be quite delicate as you're relying solely on the layer bonds to transmit the torque from the head to the shaft. Highly recommend using the split function in the slicer to split each one vertically and then print with the flat side on the bed. Once printed, simply put the halves together with super glue and you'll have a significantly stronger part.

One thread is left-handed, either the right screw is missing or it needs to be changed to a right-handed thread :D

Only printed the shroud itself as I plan to use it on the outside of my pc-case thats enclosed to optimise / pinpoint the case exhaust fan to duct leading out of the enclosure. Doing a really quick print but seems to work great.
