Introducing the mini boomerang! Simply print it out, bend at the folds, and throw. I recently saw a video of someone making a simple boomerang out of cardstock, and though it would be cool to make a 3D printable version! So, I designed a similar one on OnShape and it works great. You can check out the video with the link below, especially if you need help with throwing form.
Prints in 15 minutes
No support
less than 9 grams of filament
Works great!
Instructions:
Remove from the buildplate once completely cool.
Turn the boomerang so that the diagonal blade seams are face down, and bend all three slightly up.
Flip over the boomerang so that the other seams closer to the center are facing down, and bend them all slightly up.
Hold the boomerang vertically in your dominant hand in between your thumb and index finger, on the side that the blades curve towards you.
Release with a flick of the wrist, and try to catch it!
Note: It will probably take a little while to get used to the technique.
