Introducing my first serious 3D-Print art-piece and design: Space Kid Dreams of Jupiter - a Shadowbox Nightlight. This design is the perfect nightlight for kids who are interested in space.
The design includes:
- 10 x panels designed to be printed as 3x0.2mm layer panels.
- I printed with glow in the dark PLA, with the back star layer translucent Purple to give a very light tint to white light.
- Any light colour should work fine, with white giving good results.
- Matte filaments may darken your lamp overly.
- If you have good adhesion, these can be printed without any rafts
- Use Arachne Wall Generator Settings
- A bottom and top housing
- Simple low profile design
- Looks great in translucent
- Friction fit seams sized for 10 x panels
- Bottom housing includes socket mechanism for light-strip scaffold
- Starshield back-panel
- Designed for Matte filament to contain light and highlight top and bottom housing
- Includes star holes that cast a dim star pattern (better results if you swap to point source light)
- Includes hole for LED
- Cutout to seal hole if hole not desired
- Light-strip scaffold
- convenient socket lock scaffold with holes for wrapping LED lights
- Spacer Tool
You must bring your own LED solution. It is designed by default for a RGB LED Light-strip (with remote). You could use the official Bambu options although there are a few other options. Depending how bright you want it you might not need a very long strip.
The goal for this design were:
- to create my first real design!
- Include a housing and everything needed.
- make a shadowbox design suitable for fancy boys and fancy girls.
- Be efficient with filament
- No needed glue! The model can be assembled with a friction fit.
- The LED strips are housed securely inside in a suspended scaffold.
- Custom spacing tool included! To help with assembly.
