Description

I got some bricks recently and decided to make some compatible parts, and as I have had this Bambu Lab boat kit sitting around for a while thought I would draw inspiration from a Ribtec to create this little model.

As well as the Bambu Lab boat kit you will need a little glue to fix the dowels into the parts securely. I use super glue with a needle nose applicator for this. Suggest not using Gorilla Glue as it expands and pushes out the dowels.

Assembly

Put a very small dab of glue in the base of the piece where the wheel will be fitted as pictured.

If you do not have a needle nosed applicator for your super glue, put a small dab on the end of the wheel instead.

Now insert the wheel into the hole, ensure it is pushed in and put to one side to dry.
Put a small dab of super glue into the bottom of the holes at the rear of the boat, or on the tips of the larger dowels.

Insert the dowels into the holes and ensure they are pushed all the way in.

Carefully wipe up any excess glue with a paper towel, ensuring to not get it anywhere else on the boat.

Put a tiny amount of glue in these holes in the bottom of the boat.

Insert the smaller dowels in the holes, ensuring they are pushed all the way in.

Carefully wipe away any excess glue from around the dowels.

At this stage I check the dowels are really all the way in one more time, re-wipe glue as necessary and leave it to dry for 5 mins.

Put a small dab of glue in the bottom of the holes in the cones, or on the tips of the dowels on the back of the boat.

Push the cones firmly onto the dowels on the back of the boat.

Leave them to dry a little if you are not comfortable continuing, but please check they stay flush with the boat periodically.

Put a tiny amount of glue in the two holes (or on top of the dowels at the front of the boat).

This part also benefits from a thin layer of glue on the underside as pictured below the holes.

Insert the driver area onto the dowels as pictured.
Put a tiny amount of glue in the two holes (or on top of the dowels at the rear of the boat).
Carefully place the rear seat onto the dowels aligning the holes and ensuring it is pushed all the way down.
Wait for the glue to dry, and add some people.
The Bambu Lab boat kit clips easily to the indentation at the back, time to go sailing!

Bill of Materials

Super glue or other appropriate glue is required for assembly, needle nose applicator is preferred.
