Felt it was time to revisit my hinged display cover for the P Series printers as I had a few ideas about how to refine the design. Wanted to make it easier to print and to assemble, more robust, and maybe a little more handsome. Used some of the D3 dowels (3x16) from Bambu Maker Supply and some generic 6x2mm magnets for the revision, makes for a smooth and simple hinge. Included both the vanilla version and one with a silly joke embossed on the outside and inside of the lid.

ASSEMBLY NOTES!

Print without support. Model should already be correctly oriented on the plate, but use auto-orient if needed. After print, insert the dowels carefully into the frame first. Then, attach the frame to the printer. Once the frame is attached, slide the lid into place on the dowels (having the frame attached first makes this much easier. Once the dowels are fully seated in both halves of the assembly, remove the hinge cover from the printer and add the four 6x2 magnets. I opted for a tight friction fit, and used a small dot of CA glue as well. The magnet fit will be tight-- I inserted them lightly and then flipped the model before using a rubber mallet on a flat surface to gently seat them fully. Once all four magnets are in, give it a minute for the CA glue to fully dry and then reattach everything to the printer. Have fun!
