I needed somewhere to hang my earmuffs so I would stop setting them down and forgetting where they are. So this is what I came up with.

I used (12) 6x3mm magnetics glued in place to hold on the side of the fridge. My fridge is coated and uneven so if your mounting surface is flat you may get by with fewer magnetics. The magnet holes are pointed so no supports are required.
