Description

Update:

18th of Jun 2024

  1. Just tidying up of the files and a small update for the nozzles.
  2. The Paint-On numbered covers are kept as a seperate file
  3. The extra nozzles are now part of the main file.

12th of Jun 2024

  1. Tweaked the port holes so it grips the PTFE tubes better. (In case you don't know, you can use PTFE tubes instead of the printed nozzles)
  2. Very slightly narrow the for hole for the hygrometer so it fits tighter.
  3. Changed the style of the brackets and the fonts to match that of the Covers

11th of Jun 2024

  1. Tweaked the internal geometry of the nozzles to reduce rubbing as the filament travels through it.
  2. If you feel are you getting too much resistance or rubbing from the original Nozzles, you can try wider Nozzles. You can find the Nozzle Pack under print profiles. These nozzles comes in a choice of Original, +0.05 and +0.10.

8th of Jun 2024

  1. Sliced abit off the side of the cover to make the cover easier to fit when using the top mount. I missed the measurement, it will fit, but just barely. If you are using my Clip-On Top Mount, I've updated the file so it works now.
  2. I've brought back the Paint-On numbers for the cover. You can color it yourself (the stencil will appear when you use the Bambu Studio Paint function) or you can just use the one I uploaded under print profiles.
  3. Small adjustments to the clips to make it snap tighter. I've also reduced the size of the release lever incase it catches on the spool.

Finally I've created the ULTIMATE FILAMENT SPOOL ENCLOSURE for the AMS LITE!

Thank you for all the support and feedback on the previous design. I’ve incorporated everything I’ve learned to create a new design that I believe is better and more user-friendly. Now, installing and feeding filament is so much easier. The cover is attached using clips, making the process more straightforward. No additional tools or parts are needed, and you have a choice of action panels and action buckets to suit your needs.

My favorite action panel is the dual monitoring (inside/outside) hygrometer panel.

This is also compatible with my and Bambulab's AMS lite top mount. You'll need to remove the screw on the Bambulab version.

Installation is also relatively easy. Let’s get started!

NOTE

PLA for all parts

PETG for the clips

Instructions

Connect the buckets together as shown using the clips.

Install the plugs by press-fitting them. They don't need to go in all the way; stop once they are tight. The round-based ones are for the filament to go through, while the square ones are for sealing.

I've also designed it so that you can use a PTFE tube if preferred. Just gently push it through the hole. I would recommend a very short tube of 2 to 4cm.

Install the setup onto the AMS Lite. Connect the covers and your choice of action panel together using the clips.

Work your way around the perimeter of the hygrometer and it should pop into place in the recess. It sits flush when installed correctly. Note that the hygrometer is held in place by it's brim and not the clips.

Install your choice of Action Buckets.

Attach the cover using the clips. You may also also install the brackets for additional stability.

That's it, I guess the rest should be quite self explanatory.

Have Fun!

Do you think it is possible for this to be printed with the A1 mini please?

I only made a small mod to the front cover by making the rectangular slot for the hygrometer and it is perfectly fit, it does not come into contact with any internal part! print in PETG Clear the result is excellent! ah and I acted as a tester by mounting it on the AMS vertically and it fits really precisely! I'll add a print profile for my modification and the super deserved boost! thank you very much! Need tò invert the numbers for verticale AMS D:

ah, read your comment wrongly. Great use of the Action Panel! Hope there will be more creative remixes by other users.

would you please share this mod? I want to use this kind of hygrometer.

BTW, I think your hygrometer is not installed properly, push it in (gently, working your way around the corners) and it should pop in to the recess.

Thanks! actually it was quite loose. I printed it before June 12th, when you updated the design. Fixed it with a flat rubber band.

What wall mount did you use? I get my printer later this week when I move into my new house and I am just planning out my office space/printing space.

@Supergrapher 非常感谢大佬的分享,全PETG材料打印,刚刚弄完 还没试用,应该没什么问题,再次感谢!!!

Great construction. Everything fits together perfectly! I had to leave out the filament feedthrough because otherwise it would jam. Thank you very much

Hmm... do you think giving a few option for sized would help? Maybe a slightly bigger hole can prevent the jams?

Replying to @Supergrapher :
I think the hole in the inlet should be rounder. However, it works perfectly for me without it

I can confirm that the filament feed-through is a bit tight and the first prints failed because the filament got stuck. With a 2 mm drill I was able to smooth out the holes a little, now the filament no longer gets stuck, but it still makes some very loud noises. Especially with third-party filaments.

Having trouble with the second bucket, the first one printed fine twice, on the second bucket it already failed twice in the same way, dont know what to do :( It seems like the extruder starts to hit one of the corners then it leads to this

I think the temperature is wrong, it looks like it is too low. Try to do a temperature tower.

gave it another try but this time sliced in orca, but its PLA and the temp is at 220, never had any issues with this temp. If it fails again will try the temp tower thanks.

I dont understand why but tried printing the tower and every corner is curled up from 240 to 190 but failed at 200 because again the head hit the corner and knocked it over, i think that what causing the print to fail, corner curls up hotend hits it. I dont get it its just PLA.

Thanks for the contribution! It's very good! I have had many jams and I have observed that when the filament is new it tends to hang down and gets stuck with the bottom of the housing. I think that going 5mm larger to give space to any filament could help, as for the filament exit holes I consider them good since I had no problems with the pitch.

Thanks for the feedback. The retraction from the spool holder should have taken care of it. Does it get better as the filament is getting used up?

That's right, I have a spool with a couple of turns of filament and it has no jamming problem, with full filaments up to a little more than 3/4 it goes down and it gets stuck making a noise from the shock

What wall mount are you using? :-)

You used clear PLA. Would it be ok to use clear PETG?

hmm, for my previous model I've printed it in both PLA and PETG, the PLA print is stiffer while the PETG is slightly flexible. But PLA prints better for the thin walls in the design. Although I didn't have problems with PETG, I had some feedback that their prints failed with PETG.

Ok, thanks. I guess I will get a roll of clear PLA.

if you have sticky plate, clear PETG should act like PLA.

Hey, is there any reason the current post of it is only using PETG? I'm interested in this as an alternative to paying someone else to print the buckets and covers but I noticed that the file has everything being done in PETG. I'm new to 3d printing so any information on why that was chosen would be greatly appreciated.

no specific reason, you can print it in any material you want, original profile in PLA, and only one plate with clips in PETG as it recommended but can also be done in pla. Reason it in petg is i was printing clips last in petg and saved it so it apllied petg to whole thing, clearly my fault 😅
