For use with BuckleBoards and BuckleBusters available in my designs.

BuckleTiles are small tiles roughly 1" or 26mm wide that are designed to be snapped onto the surface of BuckleBoards. The tiles come in different configurations, so you can create a flat plane of tiles, inside corners, outside corners, and more. Learn more here:

I've been tinkering with this project for over 4 years. Buckleboards have been through at least 5 major design overhauls and dozens of smaller iterations. Finally, they are ready to unveil.

To snap, place the BuckleTile peg over one of the four holes on the BuckleBoard. Then push down hard. This will require an adult's grip. The tile edges overlap slightly to hide any gaps. Because of this, you will sometimes need to bend the BuckleBoards slightly to fit two tiles together. Sometimes it's easier to put 4 tiles on each BuckleBoard andthen connect the BuckleBoards.

Design your own tile textures, such as Cobblestone, Grass, Water, Brick, etc to build entire worlds! The tiles are compatible with 28mm gaming miniatures.

Please take pictures of your creations and share here! You are highly ENCOURAGED to design your own textures. Tag your creations with "buckleboards" and list as a remix of the Tiles or Boards, depending on what you made.

Used in conjunction with BucklePunch. A block to go under a BuckleBoard. The block has a hollow area under the tile being punched out. Makes the process easier.

The BuckleTile Family:

Use this tile on flat surfaces. This is the tile you'll use 95 percent of the time. Perfect for game boards, miniature gaming textures, etc.

Inside Corner, 2 Sides:

When you're forming an inside corner, use three of these where three Boards meet.

Inside Corner, 1 Side:

Use two or more of these when two Boards meet to form an inside corner.

Outside Corner, 2 Sides:

When you're forming an outside corner, use three of these where three Boards meet.

Outside Corner, 1 Side:

Use two or more of these when two Boards meet to form an outside corner.

Outside Corner, 3 Sides:

This piece is only used with Half and Quarter BuckleBoards to make ends.

Outside Corner, 4 Sides:

Print instructions

For best results, print at .2mm or higher.

These items have fairly strict tolerances, and your printer will need to be well-calibrated to print properly. You will need to experiment with Cura's "horizontal expansion" to get the sizes just right. On my Printrbot Simple Metal for most PLA plastrics, a horizontal expansion of -.12 is just right.

Right after printing, the BuckleTiles will be a little hard to snap into the BuckleBoards. The plastic will gradually shrink over time and become easier to snap. Still, these are building blocks for adults. Children will probably not have a strong enough grip to snap them together.
