Description

Hello guys,

 

I share with you my latest design, i was inspired by an aesthetic design of a storage i saw on Pinterest and i wanted to recreate it for my wife.

 

It is made of 4 printed parts:

  • 2x rotative storages (upper & lower)
  • 1x central rod (used to hide the central threaded rod and the hardware( screw & nut)
  • 1x base

In order to assembly this model, you need the following hardware:

  • 1x M12 threaded rod (length 260 mm)
  • 4x washer plate (D=23.5 mm; d=13.8mm; e=2.5mm)
  • 2x M12 hex nut (d=M12; thread=1.75mm; e=21.1; m=10mm; s=19mm)
  • Ecrous hexagonaux
  • 1x M12 self-locking hexagonal nut (d=M12; m=12mm; s=18.8mm)

 

Assembly is quite forward:

  1. Place the self-locking hexagonal nut at one end of the threaded rod (Note: the self-locking part must be oriented toward the exterior side of the rod (please refer to the mechanism picture all components are well placed))
  2. Insert and slide the threaded rod (TR) through the base, the base should stop sliding once it reachs the self-locking hex nut surface.
  3. Slide one washer plate (WP) on the threaded rod until it touch the opposite side of the base.
  4. Screw and tight the hex nut until the sub-assembly “Base” is totally rigid. (No mouvement between the base and the rod should be possible)
  5. Slide the lower storage through the TR until it touch the base. (make sure that it is well centered)
  6. Slide another WP on the TR
  7. Slide the central rod
  8. Slide one WP on the TR until it touch the printed part (central rod)
  9. Screw and tight the hex nut until the central rod is totally rigid.
  10. Slide another WP on the rod.
  11. Cover the hardware with the second storage. Once done, you can place all your product and enjoy the model.

I have over-engineered this design, but it was worth it.
