VI-Wallet 66.6 - Optimizing Card Wallets
I have:
- …slimmed down the back wall after realizing it was unnecessarily thick/rigid without compromising stability.
- …completely overhauled the Safety Mechanism after extensive work on it.
- …introduced a removable grip to the sides using modifiers in the slicer for those who prefer different aesthetics or tactile feel, available in Bambu studio.
- …shortened the wallet slightly to prevent the cards from moving around.
→A Smart version, featuring a drawer for cash and coins, will be released soon.
Due to issues with different printers and materials in the VI-Wallet 66 and VI-Wallet 66 Smart, I conducted tests with various materials this time.
Here's what I discovered:
- Bambu Matte PLA is somewhat softer, which allows the cards to carve paths into the wallet, gradually reducing the mechanism's effectiveness. Update: I believe this issue has now been resolved by reinforcing the Safety.
- Elegoo Basic PLA is very durable and provides an extremely high-quality feel, akin to nice injection molding more than any other filament I've encountered.
- Basic PLA and PLA+ consistently yield the best printing results, leading to fewer print failures or unusable models.
Avoid printing at high speeds. Stick to Quiet/- or Normal/-Mode. - In conclusion, I personally recommend using Basic black PLA and printing at normal speed for its aesthetic appeal and fewer complications.

The slider is stuck? Try this:
Firstly, this is quite common with print-in-place mechanical parts, so don't worry.
Use your finger or a tool to gently separate the top of the slider-circle from the wallet body; this usually resolves the issue.
If necessary, apply some pressure to the internal piece at the bottom of the wallet.
Still unresolved?
Two possibilities remain:
The bottom of the wallet may be fused, which can be remedied by carefully inserting a knife between the external and internal part.
Cheers.
