whats the small pin for?

This small pin allow "legs" move just in 180 degree. In lower position it stop them. Hope you understood

I'm having difficulty with the pins falling out. Do I need to glue them to the blade?

Yeah, that can happen it depends on your printer tolerance. No needed glue the pins just print them little bigger something like 0,1mm or 0,2mm bigger in X and Y :)
