Description

I love the X1C design, so I wanted to create a similar enclosure for my A1 Mini.

Premise, I know that the A1 Mini is not created to work in an enclosure etc, but I closed it only whene the print is out of service to protect from dust etc and for only my estetical pleasure, when it works I keep the door and the roof open.

The project currently is about just the enclosure and not of AMS and its management, an update will follow that will only touch the rear panel to incorporate the PTFE from AMS.(I must verify some parameters befer to release that).

The mounting of chassis is easy, all are interlocking peaces and their fixing is renforced by glue, below what I used:

For the panneling, I used the 3mm Dibond material below an example photo,

I cut it of the mausere needed, I prefer don't say the measure, when you glued all peaces of chassis, is better that you take the meause alone to cover better the dettail, below a picture of all cover needed.

while for the roof and the door I use a policarbonato always of 3 mm also it cutted after the chaissis is glued, to have more dettailed measure.

in the end for the door hinges I used a Pin like in the photo belw (usually used for shelves) diameter 5 mm and for the handle a magnet of 10 mm diameter.

following many request I add the measure of the pannels:

  • two lateral panels are 530x440 mm
  • back panel is 530x360 mm
  • top plexi panel is482x400 mm
  • plexi door is 530x360 mm

Anyway I suggest that when you glued all pieces of chassis, you take the measure alone to cover better the detail.

and thank you for the compliment. I increased the dimensions a bit to fit the width of the plexiglass sides so they only needed one cut each, and fit the concrete block with room for hands. black coroplast everywhere else. the wingnuts are https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2403332 and the ptfe tube fittings are https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2954028

Thanks for your great design. I am printing an enclosure for the A1 and ams lite 1000mm x 850mm x 850mm. I beg your help putting up a support in the middle? To have 2 doors in the front. Can it be a 400mm door on the left for the printer, and a 400mm door on the right for the ams lite. Thanks for reading my request.

BE AWARE THIS IS A LOT OF FILAMENT. I didn’t realize that the estimate didn’t account for printing some things multiple times and I ran through two full rolls of filament on this. That said I’m super happy! I haven’t got to full assembly yet but it all printed super well and super strong, I’m excited to get some side panels for this thing and get it on my printer!

This has never happened to me before, the printout turned out fine, but I noticed that something like this was happening and that's why I reported it to you so that you could possibly improve the project. maybe I'm the only one, or maybe others just didn't notice it. Your project is really great, have a nice day

thanks! I just put an led strip at the front of the inside of the enclosure. there is a strip right above the door and then on the right and left. I used individually addressable leds with an esp32 board running WLED controlling them.
