Description

Lure saver

The problem:

I guess every predator fisher knows the problem of the bait getting stuck onto something under water, lots of times resulting in line break and also lost lures. and thus a trip to the lure-shop again…

The Solution:

This lure saver might help you, put it over your line and let it sink to your lure, then pull the cord gently until you feel the lure saver getting grip onto the lure or hooks (this might take some tries) when having grip you can use more force to try to pull the lure out.

I use this lure saver for myself for quite some time now and it saved me already over 10 lures, so i did not have to buy new ones.

Printing info:

Printed in PETG , when tolerances are good the lure saver kind of clicks in the spool but i also added some space for 2 5x2mm magnets to keep the saver in the spool better.

Print with 5 walls , this will make the top part almost solid and will improve strength.

The lure saver has painted supports, they are not mandatory, but it results in a better-looking top part of the lure saver.

The print profile has a pause just before the layer where the inner spaces are getting closed. During this pause you can add some lead to make the lure saver sink. I use 2 or 3 pieces of 10-gram flat lead, i think they are pretty universal, but you can always other variations of lead or tungsten to add weight.

small opening dimensions: 27x11x6mm

big opening dimension: 38.5x17.5x6mm

Post printing:

add some rope and add 2 5x2 magnets and you are ready to save some lures !!

The small opening in the bottom part of the lure saver, where you can put the lure saver over your line can be melted together in the corners a little bit, but can be easily solved with a razorblade (experienced this with a generic petg from another brand)

Strength:

It would not be able to pull out the titanic but my experience is it can handle some force, but look at it this way; every single time you succeed in getting the lure back you save money while the print is pretty cheap to print, if it breaks just re-use the lead and print a new one and save some other lures…
