Description

Description of a Small Part Sorting Tray and Spatula

A small parts counting/sorting tray is a tool used to accurately and efficiently count or sort small parts. This kit consists of a flat, rectangular tray with raised edges and a funnel on one side to allow for easy transfer of counted small parts into a container.

The spatula is a flat, narrow tool used in conjunction with the small parts counting/sorting tray. It helps people with large fingers move, separate, and count small parts without touching them directly. I have included a straight and angled spatula in the kit. The tweezers are included as a bonus tool to help aid in the counting/sorting process.

Instructions on How to Use a Small Parts Counting/Sorting Tray and Spatula

1. Preparation:

  • Ensure the small parts counting/sorting tray and spatula are clean and dry.
  • Place the tray on a flat, stable surface.

2. Pouring the small parts:

  • Open the small part’s bottle, container, or bag.
  •  Pour a small quantity of small parts onto the tray, starting from the side opposite the funnel. This helps in controlling the number of small parts on the tray at a time.

3. Spreading and counting/sorting:

  • Use the spatula to spread the small parts across the tray, creating a single layer.
  • Begin counting/sorting the small parts by separating them into groups. A common method is to count in groups of five or ten for easier tracking.

4. Transferring the small parts:

  • After counting/sorting the desired quantity, use the spatula to guide the small parts towards the funnel.
  • Tilt the tray slightly so the small parts slide down the funnel into a new container or the original bottle.
  • Ensure all counted small parts are transferred, using the spatula to help guide any remaining small parts.

5. Repetition:

  • If more small parts need to be counted, repeat the process: pour, spread, count, and transfer until the required number of small parts is reached.

6. Final Check:

  • Double-check the count if necessary.
  • Ensure all small parts have been transferred into the correct container
