Heavily inspired by TripleGWorkshop's Easy Spheres, but created in OpenSCAD - this parametric sphere generator lets you dial in the exact size and connector sizing you need (to account for tolerance differences with filament, printers, etc.) to print perfect spheres.
USE VARIABLE LAYER HEIGHT WITH SMOOTHING!
Does not require glue, though you could put some between the halves for a permanent bond. The connector does a good job, and makes it almost impossible to separate once built anyway. Friction is awesome.
Variables to modify:
- sphereDiameter = mm of sphere (decimals allowed if you're an inch user)
- connectorScale = % size of connector relative to the cutout in the spheres. I recommend 99%, dial in for larger spheres.
Assembly is a bit weird, just keep manipulating it by twisting each half little-by-little until the space between is removed. Squeezing towards the end helps close the seam.
