Description

Silica Dryer Spool Without Waste 💸

Empty SUNLU Spool Reuse

ADVICE

This project is designed for a specific case of personal use.

I built a humidity-controlled filament cabinet through a specific dehumidifier, my need was also needed a passive dehumidification system.

The desire was to create a coil from empty SUNLU coils with better airflow than existing ones.

This is a long and precise print, pull the 0.4 nozzle to the limits, and be sure that your printer is fully calibrated before proceeding.

Works only with SUNLU Spool

THE DIFFERENCES

All the other projects that I have found have one thing in common, only a small portion of desiccant stays in contact with air.

With this design, the airflow through desiccant is maximized.

THE THREE USES

You can use the Desiccant Spool in three ways:

• Inside a Filaments Rack cabinet (Like Me)

• Inside a Free AMS Slot

• Inside a Full Spool (if You use only the central element) inside the AMS, that gives you additional weight for the AMS bouncing problem.

THE SILICA

What Desiccant use? You can use the Desiccant you want.

In my case, I use an Industrial Silica that seems like Walter White Crystal Meth (😅), but normal Silica like this one work fine.

The holes are 2mm wide for your knowledge.

there is a design flaw, the holes are not joined, and what is more annoying is that the caps do not match... I forced a little to fit them in and it immediately broke!!! it's a nice project, but it needs some modifications, more tolerance needs to be given...

Strength Issue:The parts with the holes break easily from the rest of the part, this is a design issue

if you broke it after print it’s a elephant problem not design issue. I have 8 of this spool no one is broken
