Description

What should business cards for a "#wannabemaker" look like? This is the question I asked myself whenever someone asked for my contact info while I was out and about.

I thought it would be cool to print them directly and maybe add an NFC tag to make it extra "nerdy."

Drawing inspiration from my everyday work business card, I designed and created a fully customizable file so anyone can add their own name.

Since they're really thin, they're super flexible even when printed in PLA.
Plus, there's a spot for a 25mm adhesive NFC tag for those who want to go the extra mile.
Now with more 450 Emoji logo available!!!

Alternative versions

I want to say thanks to everyone who supported this project by making some alternative version of this business card available.
Hope you like it!

Printing Instructions

This model is super easy to print and doesn't need any supports or post-processing.

You can print it with a 0.4mm nozzle and a layer height of 0.08mm. If you've reduced the text size, you might want to try a 0.2mm nozzle.

For the colors, I've set a color change at the third layer in the preview page.

For those interested, I've uploaded the .3mf file (Bambu Studio) with the color change already configured.

Material: PLA
Layer Height: 0.08mm
Initial Layer Height: 0.16mm
Infill: 100% (Rectilinear)
Top Surface Pattern: Hilbert Curve
Wall Generator: Arachne
Supports: NO

Are other versions available?

You can find alternative versions on my profile and more will be published in the future.
If you have any suggestions to improve it, leave a comment. I'll do my best to make this project even better!

If you need a hand and can't customize the file, just leave a comment. If I can, I'll be happy to help you out!

If you like this model and want to support my work, you can give me a "boost" 🚀 or buy me a [Ko-Fi].
Your contribution, no matter how small, helps me buy new spools of filament for creating my prototypes. ;)

Thanks in advance! :)

Hi there! I keep trying to follow your guide and all, but I can't seem to get the text to print off. I've used the layer settings and things like you've mentioned, but I can't seem to get it to work. Care to assist? I'd really like to get a few of these for myself, they're quite nice! The bigger letters seem fine, however the smaller texts won't work for me.

The only tips I can give you are these: - Use a larger font size. - Use uppercase letters (so the thickness of the letters is larger) - Use a hotend with a 0.2mm nozzle to improve definition. Unfortunately, there's a physical limit to the line size dictated by the nozzle, and if you're printing with a 0.4mm nozzle, thinner lines won't print properly. Let me know if you manage to get it working. If you're still having trouble write me a pm Catch you later!

Try using a “real” apostrophe instead of a straight quote. I used this character and it seems to work [ ’ ] Here’s a screenshot. Let me know if it works for you... Talk soon!

Why did you snap out the circle in pic 6?

I hope I understood your question correctly... In pic 6, I placed the NFC sticker, which in my case was white. I decided to print a small cap to glue over the tag so it would match the color of the business card and the sticker wouldn't be visible.

This business card is designed to be used with an NFC tag. Replacing the NFC tag space with a QR code would make printing very difficult (maybe even impossible) and would need to be done with at least a 0.2 nozzle. Others have also asked about adding a QR code, and when I have the chance, I'll release a new design with enough space for a QR code that can be printed with a 0.4 nozzle. Thanks for your comment!

Gracias por tu comentario. Lo siento, no pensé en esta opción en este momento, pero es una observación interesante. Creo que también agregaré esta posibilidad en la próxima actualización. (traducido con traductor de google)

t’s a bug I’m working on. Unfortunately, the "customizer" on MakerWorld can't render some logos. For now, you can set the logo to "none," but I'll release a new version soon with a selection of Emojis to replace the current ones. I'll let you know as soon as it's ready. Thanks for the heads-up!
