I created a 10 by 10 piece and different print profiles to print multiple pieces at once. The layers are connected with little pla bridges and uses petg as support interface material.
I'm trying to slice a multi-story version, using PLA support material for the support.
But it just wouldn't work - for some reason Bambu studio seems to hang at
"Slicing plate 1: Support: generate polygons at layer" regardless if it's two, three, or four-stories. Always stuck at 65% for 10+ minutes - so I think it's terminal, I've just shut the program down.
I've restarted the whole computer now, but to no avail.
So I've checked; the profile is set to "Tree" support. Changing that to the normal/snug support solved the program hanging.
However... there seem to be gaps in the support, and I'm not sure if this is how it's supposed to be, since I can't generate it with the tree support option. See attached image.
Can anyone give me an opinion/help on this last bit (i.e. if the "holes" are as expected?)
Edit:
It's probably not great, since it seems to be exactly at the seam position....see second img.
Edit2:
found the culprit/s :)
Generisch-Wurfel is the name of these little pieces embedded in between - third image.
I'm guessing these will break off, but otherwise seemed necessary to keep the top from moving?
Setting the support xy distance to 0.2 reduces the gaps, too.
Hi, I think it depends, what you want to store with it 😁
I printed mine in PLA and it works without problems :)
But it should be no problem to reverse the materials, but I never tested.
Please leave a comment if you try it.
