Description

This is The Power-bait Mold, the perfect tool for everyone!

********************** **********************

Power-bait is used primarily in trout fishing so I designed this to have shapes that resemble a trout or sunfish's diet. There is a grub to resemble the larvae that they commonly eat, a few sizes of balls and a teardrop to appear like eggs in the water, and a mold for small pellets if your trout are stocked and are used to pellet food. This covers most of the basics but I created this model with customizability in mind (instructions to make your own shape at the bottom).

Assembly

1. Snap together

2. Snap in molds

3. Repeat then Done!

So how do you use this?

In order to make consistent shapes you need to follow a few simple steps.

1) Get the correct amount of Power-bait:

You don't need as much power-bait as you may think, a good rule of thumb is just slightly more than the size of one half of the mold as shown in the picture.

2) Squeeze hard:

To make sure that you have a piece that stays together in the water, you need to make sure you squeeze hard and maintain pressure for ~3 seconds.

3) Remove the Power-bait and get fishing:

The next step is to simple take the powerbait out of the mold and hook it onto your hook like any other soft plastic, the pellets also work great on a jig/fly!

How to design your own

Design you own making a copy of this OnShape and using the template or you can make your own using the template file under dowload

Help! I’ve printed this twice on the a1 mini settings and it isn’t a usable product! The first time I sent it through the app to the printer and the file didn’t have any supports and the hind section did not print well. The second time I opened it up in bambu studio first, still had to add supports. With supports it is visually good, but in both scenarios it is impossible to get the parts to click together. When we tried hard enough it just broke. It seems like the bumpers are too wide. I was trying to make this as a birthday gift!

I’m so sorry to hear this, how soon do you need the model? I am at school right now so when I get home I will be able to see what I can do. I will change the bumpers to me smaller, but if you could give me guidance on how much smaller it needs to be then that would help greatly. Also I have not had issues without supports. What filament are you using?

I don’t need it until September 8th now since I’m going out of town. I’ve used the sparkle PLA seen in the photo and a basic black PLA. I have issues without supports on most of my projects because the overhangs? are just large enough that it gets all spaghetti. When I imported the file to Bambu studio it told me I should use supports as well based on what it detected. I’ll try to give you possible measurements tonight when I get home. Thanks for helping me out!! I’m so excited to get working models for my coworkers!

hard to say. maybe 1/2 to 1mm smaller diameter bumpers? maybe the same decrease to the bumper depth? they were both extremely difficult to force together and I had to have my husband brute force it for me. he even got a blood blister on the first one.
