The Design and Printing
This “Cube" comprises of 4 separate pieces connected only by suspended filament.
I'm planning to bring out the full cube but haven't had a chance to test and tweak that yet.
This piece's dimensions are approximately 50mm x 50mm x 20mm
It's very delicate part and print. Ensure that Arachne Wall generator is being used and layer height is set to 0.2mm.
I haven't had any with bed adhesion, let me know if you do.
Let the print cool before attempting to remove. And take extra care when removing.
I recommend using some fairly strong PLA, i've used normal matte PLA but found Silk PLA to be too brittle.
Occasionally a filament line may fail. I recommend careful plucking it out - it won't affect the overall look.
NOTE: The overhang on the parts is extreme and the surface finish on the lower side isn't great (see pictures). I'm planning optimise this over the coming days.
Do Let me know how you get on.
My Work
After many years in Engineering, I've just decided to try and follow my childhood dream of becoming of a Creative Designer.
A Creative Designer of what? No idea! Right now I really like puzzles, mechanisms and kinetic sculptures so that's where I'm going to focus my efforts.
