Description

This is a chain delete for the K1Max that does not require a riser.    It is made up of two main parts  1) a swing arm cable guide at the back of the printer and a zip tie enabled swivel at the front that allows a zip tie to be connected between the lever and the tool head.

Update: 6/7/2024:  Swing Arm Tool Head Mount Extended v2 was added - utilizes a F623-RS bearing to mount to the tool head

Thank you to @pedrothemagnanimous for the inspiration for the swing arm

Assembly

Note: depending on the zip tie you choose, you may need to file the slots in the swing arm and tool head mount for a perfect fit. ( The zip tie should be very snug to avoid vibrations).

  1. Install the M3 4 5 into the bottom of the Base   (two mounting holes will be on the upper right side)
  2. Install the 5mm of PTFE tube into the Swivel
  3. Install the swivel on to the base and fasten with the 16mm M3
  4. Insert the 2 CF rods into the swivel
  5. Slide the 3 swing arm braces onto the rods - the rounded surfaces should be facing the front of the printer when installed
  6. Attach the swing arm cap to the end of the rods
  7. Install bearing in tool head mount
  8. Run cables through select tool head mount  (install o-ring on cables first)
  9. Attach Tool head mount to the tool head with 8mm M3 SHCS
  10. Run the zip tie through the slot of the mount back to through the slot in the back of the swivel arm cap and cut to size.
  11. secure the printer cables to the zip chain with the small zip ties
  12. Important:  wrap any zip ties not directly on the swing arm in wire harness tape or equivalent.  This will prevent the zip tie from getting hung up in the back left corner.
