i always wanted a big filament poop box, but didn't want to spend 6+ hours and 300g of filament. And I started using used filament box as a poop box, and decided make it fit properly to the chute, and magnetic so it doesnt move arund mess up with the hole alignment.

This model will use less than 10g of filament and take less than 30 mins to print. So if you are missing any items from below, you can start print, do a quick visit to hardware store, and by the time you are back, it will be ready to go.

you will need:

  1. box cutter / craft knife
  2. 6mm magnet x 4
  3. epoxy glue/super glue (super glue works well, but 2-part epoxy glue is WAY stronger and clean up is easier if you mess up)
  4. used filament box

Assembly instruction

  1. using the cut guide, alight the top part to the top of the filament box, and make the cut around (do not cut the top folding edge)

after testing with 50+ filament change, I noticed that cutting it more genorusley on the bottom will prevent rare occasions of poop getting stuck

2. place the cut guide in between the flaps to prevent snapping during magnet insertion

drop small amount of super glue/epoxy glue and place 6mm magnet inside, push it down to secure in place

3. insert the flaps as pictured.

4. install the poop box to the chute, fitting the chute guide inside the chute.

Would be awesome if you could create a version for different sized magnets, e.g. a single 10 x 3 mm magnet.

This model works great, thank you very much! My one suggestion is adding another cut template for the non-spool refill boxes and labeling the templates for use.
