Description

This connector facilitates the flush mounting of multiple Skadis boards, the Original and all of my DIY IKEA SKADIS Boards. It is specifically designed for the white Original Skadis board and any variants with a thickness of 5.0 to 5.1 mm.

Installation

There are two sizes of connectors available. The taller connectors are designed for the top and bottom side of the board where the holes are further apart. The print profile includes two short and two long connectors, which is an ideal combination for the largest Skadis boards. However, feel free to mix and match according to your needs. Ensure you properly remove the supports; otherwise, the gap between the connector and the hooks may be incorrect and you will have a hard time installing the connector. You will need to apply some force to push the connector down, which is completely normal. If you have trouble seating the connector, use a plastic tool (e.g. a printed bed scraper) to help push it into place. Avoid using hard objects, as they might scratch your board. Please be careful not to hurt yourself while doing this.

the clips/hooks on the rear side snap off extremely easily. I think it comes down to the supports not making contact with the model and they sag just enough that it's such a tight fit when you install them, the leverage on the layer just pops them off. Might've been my filament or calibration issue on my part. Will try again. *edited to reflect the designer’s commitment to helping me identify why my print failed. I am confident the next batch will come out much stronger. don’t use matte PLA

Do you have a picture with the supports still attached to the hooks that show the problem? If the supports themself sag on a support of 2cm, then there is some problem with the filament, filament settings (e.g. too hot, wrong flow) or the printer calibration.

I am sorry I do not have a photo. In Bambu Studio I noticed the supports were on the build plate only and not actually touching the model by 1 layer. I am fairly new to this, but I assumed it must have been intentional in the profile and just printed it. When it was done, the supports were in fact touching the model and they had just a tiny bit of sag to them. I guess it was just enough out of tolerance for them to be too tight and they just snapped off after installing. Or perhaps my Skadis board is just a bit thicker than it should be? I have no idea :/

No worries, we were all beginners at some point. I intentionally selected the 'Support > On Build Plate Only' option because it simplifies support removal and avoids interference between the hooks and the plate. Ideally, the support should not touch the model at all. If it did, something went wrong. There can be many reasons for this issue, but I have created another print profile with that option disabled. While this variant requires extra post-processing time to clean the model, it might resolve your problems. https://makerworld.com/en/models/471800#profileId-385687 Compared to regular accessories this model relies on tight tolerances, therefor it is crucial to properly clean the model thoroughly from any debris from the support.
