Description

This storage system adds more storage for the smaller things you are working with without taking up too much space. You can pull it towards you when you need it, and when you're done with it you can swing it out of the way. You can add as many layers of storage as you like with the modular design!

The three different-sized trays allow you to decide how you want to divide the available space and allow for easy removal for reorganizing. They can also be easily labeled with some tape and pen.

Everything was printed in PLA and worked fine, but stronger/stiffer materials like PETG and ABS will work even better without needing to increase walls and infills too much.

PRINT TIP:
- Depending on what you will store, print the arms and clamp stronger than usual to minimize sag and breakage ( I used 0,2mm layer height, 4 walls, and 30% infill)
- The rotatable arms are the same design so you could add more of them to give the storage a further reach (make sure to print them stronger the longer you make the arm)
- The round storage area is stackable so you can add as many layers as you want. More layers result in more weight so keep that in mind when printing the arms.
- The end stop of the C-clamp can best be printed from a softer material like TPU for extra grip. I printed mine in PLA, that also works, but TPU would be better
- The two halves of the stacker part are the only parts that need support

OTHER:
- I used three 22mm hollow metal tubes as the hinges for the arms, metal on plastic has less friction and makes the entire thing stiffer when the arms are fully extended. One is 40mm long, and two of 70mm long
- I printed this on a smaller printer so I added two folders in the files for different bed sizes for if you have a larger print volume than me.
- the trays from the bottom layer can still be removed even when a layer on top is added
