Description

As I'm dealing more and more with filament samples, having problems with printing them directly or loosing alot of space rewinding them on standard size spools, I decided to find some nice, small model to print.

Quicky I found this https://www.printables.com/model/933-filament-sample-spool-honeycomb. Great honeycomb design, but I don't really needed inner part. I made remix of it, similar to this one https://www.printables.com/model/144945-filament-sample-spool-faster-print. Well, small version was too small for me and big was too big ;)

I don't know how they are able to hold 100g sample on smaller version. Seems my winding skills isn't too great. Also, I really miss the space to put a label on this spools.

I remixed this model again, having in mind using masterspool and some adapter (check my other designs for it or for the spool stand!). Size is somewhere in the middle of original models now, 28mm width - half the size of inner space of standard spool, so I will be able to use two sample spools in one master spool. Finally perfect size for easy winding 100g samples! I added area with frame to add label and also small chamfer to counter elephant foot (honeycomb is just two lines wide so it's not a good idea to print it with elephant foot compensation). I added also two versions of filament clip for this spool.

Model consists of two parts with threads that need to be screwed together after printing. 15cm diameter, fits perfectly on Prusa MINI and Bambu Lab A1 MINI. Use 0.4mm nozzle and 0.2mm layer height. No supports required.

I hope you find this model usefull. Thanks to Aikoly for great design! Now I'm going back to print as I need alot more of them! :)
