Description

This is a set of lids, bottoms, and resting trays for the Epax X1 resin printer.

The interior top lid is for use when the vat is in the printer. It has cutouts on the side for the X1 hold down brackets.

The top cover has a light safe design. It is great for covering the vat if you are doing some cleaning in the printer.

The other model is a protective bottom to help keep any ambient light and debris out. The center is recessed as well so it does not contact the FEP or nFEP.

The “no bottom” tray is great for just sitting the vat somewhere quickly and is a good test for fit as well without committing to the full covers.

I have tight versions, which fit snugly. They may require a small bit of sanding and taking them on and off a few times to break them in. These will stay in place like a Tupperware lid and should work for longer term application.

I have loose versions which are 1mm longer and wider. These allow them to placed and removed easily.

I recommend you print the loose tray first. It is very useful accessory to have in your work area and should fit without issue. It will help you decide if you want a tighter fitting cover or need to tweak the design based on your printer setup.

Next would be the interior lid with bracket cutouts. It is built on the loose fit model and is great for covering the vat in the printer and temporarily when the vat is out of the printer.

After that you should have a good idea of what your needs are.

I printed at .25mm layer 3 tops, bottoms, and perimeters, 20% fill

They need no support. The lettering recess is very small and can be bridged with no issue.

You will need to rotate only the lid models 180 degrees. I left them rotated top up so you could easily view the logo. The others are ready to print as is.
