Description

This is a Remix of smallzzy8's X1C Heated Chamber Mod.

I printed the original, but wanted something easier to work with as the heating element fins and layout made it difficult for me to fit everything inside like I wanted.

I also made addition holes for the power cable and the probe at the bottom of the unit, as I do not run my power out of the poop chute.

Instead I used 16 AWG Copper Silicone wire, which is rated up to 35 Amps. I only use about 1 ft of wire, and connect it to the original power cable outside the unit. The unit itself pulls max 8 amps when kicking in, but quickly drops to under 5 amps when heating, less when its just the fan circulating air. The wire I am using does fit through 2 of the smaller holes that exist in the bottom of the X1C, so I also did not need to drill any holes. I also tape the probe to the floor of the X1C, near the front door.

I also filled in the holes for the original grate from the heater, and opted to use one of the fan grills that came with the fan to cover the heating element. The heating mount has the same hole placement as the fan, I just need to quickly print some spacers to make sure the grill did not touch the heating element.

I usually run this at about 48c with the chamber fan running at 70% to exhaust ABS fumes out a nearby window using 4 inch flexible ducting.

To assemble, follow the original guide here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/89225

I also used crimp ferrules on all wires just to make it easier to manage and maintain when needed (I hate working with bare stranded wire).
