Description

PUZZLE - Millennium Falcon

Note: The blue is a splash of colour for the puzzle, feel free to change it to what ever colour you'd like. Please share you colour variations for everyone else as well! I've included a preview of what green or red would look like for you.

***IMPORTANT***

In my print profile the files are set up to make the puzzle. If you load my print profile, be careful about adjusting the locations or you may change the puzzle cut. If you download the files, you will need both the STL and the Puzzle Cutter, and you will need to cut the puzzle yourself.

In my print profile I have assigned the model to have a variable layer print height, which means that the first 4 layers of the model will print with a 0.16 layer height, and switch to a 0.08 layer height for the details. If you use my uploaded print profile this will save you time on your print as the first 0.64mm is just to provide stability to the print for display. This means that the layer heights listed below in my printing instructions will not match my print profile (they will be off by 3) but the mm heights will still match! Do not change the print profile to match or it will not look the same!

If you resize the model make sure you do NOT scale the Z axis or the print colours will not be in the same position

Please post a picture of your printed copy! I'd love to see it!

I printed mine with a red splash color and it came out great! However, this was my first hueforge and I used a cheap red filament, so it looks slightly transparent in certain sections and didn't hide all the black. Totally my fault, but I've learned my lesson and won't use cheap filament on hueforges again :)

thanks for rating and sharing! it looks great, and because the red is a splash colour you still end up with a cool effect even with more transparency.

Hello, I would love to print this but I cannot get the colors right at all. I follow your instructions, but the layer heights are different on my end. For example, you say change to blue at layer 11 (.96mm) but for me .96mm is layer 8. And then for some reason on the last layer (24) it wants to put out black again when I specified it to be white. Photo 1 is layer 23 and Photo 2 is layer 24. I am using an A1 and when I change to my printer, I transfer the settings over.

Follow the 0.96mm if you opened my 3MF file. As mentioned in the description I used adaptive layers to speed up the print. "This means that the layer heights listed below in my printing instructions will not match my print profile (they will be off by 3) but the mm heights will still match! Do not change the print profile to match or it will not look the same!" If you just want to change the blue, you don't even have to change anything on the profile though. When you hit print, it will ask you to confirm the filaments, and you can just select any slot for the blue and it will use that colour even though it doesn't match colours. I would close the file you have open, and open and slice it again, it looks like you have a final layer of black at the very end right now.

I don't know, its a STL file, and not an SVG, what types of files can you work with in design space on the cricut?

Hello, that's a wonderful idea and gift for others, thank you very much for that. But I have a problem with the Puzzle Box Lid - Millennium Falcon and not with the Puzzle Box Lid - Death Star. I can't set the colors, the option isn't selectable.
