Description

Giant gyro display version 2.0

*Updates since version 1.0*

*Increased the size of the pins which make for a much smoother spin

*Fixed the third outer ring, possibly rubbing on the second outer ring due to gravity, weight and wear.

*And lastly, I have revisited the tolerances on the outer pins as some users reported pins on the outer rings sticking together.

I have included three separate models with different tolerances

The tolerances are:

0.15mm

0.2mm (recommended for most printers)

0.25mm

I have also included 3 tolerance tests so please print a tolerance test first and then print the corresponding model . As different printers print within different tolerances. the pins in the test should either be free or its ok just to have a small amount of pressure to release.

Hopefully this will stop any wasted filament printing the model without knowing the correct tolerance for your Printer.

To access all files click the dropdown arrow and download either 3mf or stl’s

Do not scale down as this will throw the tolerances out and parts will fuse.

The model is suitable for 256 build plate.

I recommend the 0.2 mm tolerance and will be suitable for most.

If your printer is really dialled in you may be able to do the 0.15 mm. With this setting, you may need to gently push the rings apart.

the stand is a snug fit on purpose to aleviate any wobble.

lastly i have printed on the A1. i have done my best to accomate other printers but am unable to personally test on other printers.

keep an eye out for the mini gyro display , a perfect desktop companion fidget with buttery smooth spins.

Wonderful toy/display for my son who was over the moon with it. I added his name to the base to personalise it

Came out pretty good with the standard profile. Parts spin pretty freely and overall going to be a cool piece of decor

Can you please create an a1 mini profile? Or is downscaling enough? Greetings

already a version for the mini on my profile. "desktop mini giro". i wouldn't scale this down as the tolerances would be lost.

Filament-hungry but the best desktop gyro I've printed in the last 10 years. It'd be awesome to embed some magnets and coils to spin it automatically... v3.0 perhaps.

Firstly are you commenting on the correct model that you’ve printed (version 2.0)? . If version 2 Did you print the tolerance test first as per instructions?
