Description

This is a Pivoting Display Mount for the BTT TFT35-SPI V2.1

The pivot assembly is spring tensioned to apply friction to the mechanism. I have repurposed an old bed levelling spring for this. A reasonably sturdy spring with a minimum ID of 5.5 mm and approximately 20 mm long will suffice.

I primarily designed this for a Voron 2_4 Hevo conversion using 3030 extrusion. I have also uploaded files for the stock 2020 based printer or printers.

I have found having the display screen placed higher on the frame, much more usable than the stock lower display which requires bending down to see in most instances. The display is quite small but I found very usable after some use\practise. The right hand back and menu button can be a little finicky on a display of this size. A firmware tweak may help this. I may look at this sometime.

I did come across an issue where the display does not work if you already have another SPI channel open (ADXL for instance). I am hoping BTT will fix this in some way. A bit of a nuisance when using some form of Portable Input Shaper.

There is a BOM and Install Guide included in the uploaded files. I have also included a step file for all the parts. Apart from some very standard hardware you will require a 1000 mm long Ribbon Cable, 9 pin, 1 mm pitch, reverse side (type B). I have included an Aliexpress link in the BOM for this item.

Parts are recommended to be sliced in the orientation uploaded. No supports are required.

For the sake of transparency. BTT kindly gifted the 35TFT SPI Display free of charge for using in any relevant product development. BTT have had no editorial control whatsoever with the design, development or this upload.
