Description

This case is for the Vault35 PCB, and features an easy to print design with functional rotating gears on the bottom for a fun flex, or as a fidget toy!

  • Fits Vault35 PCBs and uses the Mechvault standard HHKB or WKL switch plate mounting styles.
  • This case was designed for PLA filament and is designed to print in multiple parts, a Top, Bottom, Vault Parts, and TPU Feet.
  • The vault gears are assembled using 13x m2x6 flat head screws and m2 nuts: McMaster-Carr
  • This case requires no supports and the halves connect with 4x self tapping m2x6 screws. The plate screws into the bottom using 4x of the same screws: McMaster-Carr
    • Note: The print has a built in 0.1mm thick support to allow the countersink on the case bottom holes to print nicely. Break this free using a screw or screwdriver before assembly.
  • An internal pocket for weights was added as well. Weights are available here: ACCRETION 96Pcs 1/4 Oz Black Adhesive Backed Wheel Weights (24 Oz Pack)

Depending on your printer settings, the self tapping screw hole sizes may need to be adjusted. STEP files are included to make it easy to mod or adjust the case. Feel free to mod this case or use as is for your personal use. Remixes are cool but please don't use this design or remixes for commercial purposes without permission from me.

Best Print Settings

This case was designed for 0.12mm layer heights, and is important for the vault part tolerances. Feel free to use typical standards from there. 2-3 walls, 10-15% infill etc. The case prints well with a 0.4mm nozzle, but a 0.2mm nozzle would probably print even cleaner gears for the vault parts. The gear parts are sensitive to overtightening of the screws and nuts, so just back off the tension a bit if the gears are hard to spin. A dab of hot glue over the nuts after things are set and moving well will help make sure they don't come off internally.
