I gifted myself an A1 the other day with the AMS lite system. Love the printer, love the AMS but hate the spool holders (though I appreciate the design/mechanics). Sure it works fine for a couple of my spools (and it will definitely work with bambu branded spools). But I use many different brands (and that will never change), and many spool sizes ranging from the 250g Sunlu spools to 1kg spools on cardboard. After looking through dozens of spool adapters, it dawned on me that I bought the A1 for the sake of simplicity (and here I am trying to mod it!).
I liked @pghp8ntballer's small spool adapter but it still needed to be removed to insert the spool.
So it was time to go back to basics (KEEP IT SIMPLE) and this is what I came up with. A regular spool holder the way they have been done for years. It will work with ALL spools and will never need to be swapped out. I used @pghp8ntballer's clip/tabs and incorporated them into my design. The inside of the spool holder has been designed to easily pull on and off and has the hex and square logos on the endcaps so you can easily match them up with the correct AMS spool rods.
Bambu Lab - if you're reading this, please consider including something like this for the newbs like me out here who purchase the A1 combo! I had to tilt my AMS to the side just to keep the spool from dropping off so I could print these :D
