Description

This is the 4th firearm I've created. Modelled after a .32 cal Smith & Wesson snub-nose revolver. The cylinder does spin but this is a non-working prop built to be played with, handled, etc. The cartridges are a separate set of components that need to be put in the cylinder before assembly. I swear by Shoe Goo for all my assembly required projects. https://eclecticproducts.com/product/shoe-goo/ After about 15 minutes, you can easily peel any excess glue. The cartridges fit nicely in the cylinder, give the model some weight and will make a clicking sound when the cylinder is spun. In addition to the 2" barrel and the stock grips, I've included a 3" barrel and a fatter set of grips. Also printed a couple sets of grips in TPU but this is not necessary.

This was a fun little "quickie" print! A neat addition to my collection. Assemby was quick and straight forward. Waiting on some brass PLA to print bulllets. Or if I get impatient enough I COULD paint them, lol. ;-) I printed a Cattleman and had to do a quick plaque to add to the collection.

Thank you so much. This is my best "downloader" yet. Nice print! The cartridges add a lot so follow through with that. Working on a CZ .380 now aka "the ugly duckling".

Yup, having a loaded mag or cylinder certainly does add to the realism. One of the first replicas I printed was a Walther PPK. Adding the painted rounds certainly made the difference in the quality of the model! https://gallery.designcreations.us/index.php?/category/walther-ppk

Watch for my next one. I like to print them 3 times to make sure of the repeatability before I post them. Have you tried any of my other 3 handguns I’ve posted. I’d like your opinion.

Strength Issue:It is a decent design, but there were several issues with delamination & cracking. After dumping lot of super-glue onto surfaces and grips, it was good for a non-functioning prop. Cylinder no longer be removable - the rod is such a tight fit that it no longer comes out, so extra bullets are just trash / photo prop. The plugs for the grips had to be superglued in, and even then there was still a gap between the frame and the grips. Much work had to be done with a soldering iron. Good ergonomics!

What the heck did you do to it! I agree the print you did is absolutely awful. I used nothing but Shoe Goo and didn't have to manipulate any parts as you did. Better luck next time!
