This is a very nicely designed container in the shape of a macaron. It can also be used as a decoration on your bathroom shelf. I recommend printing it in macron colors.
Adorable design, however, my print jobs were unsuccessful on X1C. First attempt did not allow the first layer of the top and bottom of containers to stick on the textured plate with PETG. Second attempt caused a spaghetti failure on the the top and bottom with PETG again. Wanted to print upside down to prevent texture on the container surfaces. That required a lot of support increasing print time to 5 hrs, so I did not attempt that.
I gave it a 3rd run. It was printing fine.... till the filament got stuck...:/ Now I have an extruder to clean. 🤷♀️
Not giving up on this design. Gooped up the print plate and I got a print; now on the 4th attempt. Used .6mm nozzle. Didn't come out as smooth as in model photos. I make pure lip balms. Want to gift in this wonderful design.
Will continue to try printing it for better texture. Maybe can smooth this one out a bit if I use the torch.
Dear designer, do you print this model, the solid macaron side down or up with supports? I can't lise the extrusion lines when solid side down. I'm also using 0.6mm nozzle, but the inside and walls are just fine.
Any tips to smooth out the first layers when solid side is down?
In my next print, I flipped the design and using supports. I'll share what it looks like, but this is what I get so far. Thought green macaron I printed may have been rough as I used PETG, but this purple is basic PLA.
