Printed in Bambu Lab Translucent PETG olive and Bambu Lab Basic PLA Black. Why those colors? Because green and black are superiod color combinations to all others out there. ;-P I love the concept and it shows real outside the box thinking when it comes to fidget toyes. I finished this one just so I could take it on a walk with me just now. I printed this with 3 walls for droppability resilience, inner/outer/inner for tolerance and fit, and using the new cross hatch infill to do something different. Some comments - it doesn't feel like the traiangles come together in the collapsed mode as they do in your video. That could just be meeting to break them in more. Also the edges/border that were on the side of the triangle side that was face down were unusually thicker than the other sides. In my last picture the two sides touching above my thumg show they are thicker because the two parts actually touching were the face down parts. This could have been a side effect of using PETG as I know it prints slightly differently on some models (although I tried to combat this with the wall ordering), but I bet there is some tweaking you could do. Just a thought. Also it was a little difficult to use a hologram plate (your print screams for it IMHO) with the small touch points on the flat triangle side. I don't know if there is much than can be done about this given the design. I did clean my build plate with name brand detergent right before use, heated the bed up to 80c, and still I had to restart the print a few times. That brings me to my last point - PLEASE don't assemble the triangles unless you truly need them to printed in that exact configuration (although I don't see why I would). I was forutnate enough to catch this before I printed so n my first print I was able to cancel the 3/6 that failed part way through printing so the other 3 could finish. If I hadn't I woudl have had to cencal the entire print job which is not good when only a couple of prints fail. Now off for my walk down the street where I truly get to "road test" your design. Thank you for making this and contributing to the community!

I haven't tested on PETG way too much, mostly on PLA, but will take into consideration all gathered feedback in the next version

I totally admit the choice of filament on my part could be most of the issues I ran into. I will have to print some more to test. Meanwhile I showed my neighbor your model and he immediately went and made an origami version of it. So now I have the plastic and paper version. I'm linking the picture in case you are as amused at it as I am. :-D

Tried this out this morning and it both looks and works great! The extra hinge in the hinges is a great solution - I found it fiddly trying to hold two pyramids together and get the hinge into place, but it still only took about 3 minutes to put all of it together. I encountered one small issue, which is that one of the inner triangles was missing from one side. It was on a textured side, so had been printed directly on the bed - so very weird that it would be missing, and there not be any problems with the rest of the print. Eventually I figured that there must be some missing filament *somewhere*, so I went back to my P1S and eventually spotted a small black triangle on the ledge at the very back! 🤦🏻‍♀️ It must have gotten stuck to the nozzle briefly, because I can't see how else it could have gotten out of the larger triangle without knocking it out of place. I've tried reviewing the time-lapse but I can't spot when it happens. A minor puzzle for eternity! 😂 I'll just glue it back on.

Thank you for your feedback! I haven't encountered this problem while testing the different filaments, but I see that a few more users had the same issue as you, so I'll try to find the cause. did you clean the plate before printing?

I didn't clean the bed, and therefore I have presumed that's the reason why it happened, and not the fault of your model at all!

Thanks for messaging and letting me know about the update! I didn't know about the updated hinges on the first model, so when I saw them here it was a HUGE surprise! I didn't have any real issues with the first model in terms of the print quality or joint connections, but this one was BEAUTIFUL! Quick, easy assembly and is smooth! Ironically, had the same colors in my AMS, so I sent it! 😂 Jayo Black PLA High Speed Polylite Pla Wine Red
