Description

Edit 7.2.2022: new revision of the duct. Just small modification of the shape of body for easier print without supports. Brim is not necessary.

I also added cut-of pictures for imagination of the assembly - screws/nuts and so on.

Edit: Revision of lot of files for Ender3/Pro/V2, include assembly files.

Edit: I uploaded also "prototype" main body. It's for Ender3/Pro only! In this version is used thicker main wall between stepper and BMG. With this modification is nozzle in the center between duct's outlets. Unfortunately, you cannot use standard M3x35 DIN912 screws used for connection stepper and BMG. You have to use M3x40 and cut them little bit. That is main reason, why is this modification marked as a prototype.

Above mentioned changes are minor for current users. No need to reprint it.

You need for assembly following fasteners (type is up to you):

2x M3x8 for assembly front part together with main body (mounting diagonally)

2x M3x8 + 2 washers DIN125 for mounting main body to the carriage. Use original screws from Ender

1x M3 screw for upper mounting main_body to the carriage. Use original screw from Ender

1x M3 screw for side connection front_body to the carriage. Use original screw from Ender

2x M3x14 for axial fan (but it depends on used type)

1x M3x25 + 2x M3 DIN934 for radial fan

2x M3x8 + 1x M3 DIN934 for duct assembly (nut is used in right side)

2x M3x8 for BLTouch

3x M3x35 DIN912 for BMG and stepper (these screws are part of BMG)

It could be useful to have few pieces of M3x6.

I am not sure because I don't have Ender anymore so I can't check it. Sorry for that.

Edit 16.7.2021: Few small modifications on the main bodies - I put there two small holes for Allen key for easier assembly on the carriage. New revision of the duct - for simpler print. No need reprint if you use old one.

Edit 16.6.2021: I added here two pictures from flow simulation. They were made by @chenc399, thanks. Look also at his fanduct remix https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4887468

Edit 25.3.2021: I figured out that Cable_Holder has to be also modified for Ender3 V2 type. I am sorry to all of you who printed wrong version.***

Edit 22.3.2021: I made a few small modifications on the main body. At the same time I prepared version for Ender3 V2 as well.

Note: rectangle hole in the fan shroud is designed for Sunon radial fan and for nylon material. If you use eg. PETG, the hole may be bigger that I planned.

Compact direct drive for Ender 3/Pro/V2. It is designed for E3D V6 with the BMG extruder and pancake step motor. BLTouch holder is also included.

Duct is ready for radial blower 5015.

Note: This design is prepared for Trianglelab components, ie. BMG v2 clone, E3D V6 clone, Extruder motor. Other types may need to be modified.

BLTouch offset:

X-27.4 mm

Y-28.6 mm

Z-2.xxx mm

Fusion's source files are included (main assembly is little bit crazy so be careful with the modifications).

Cable holder isn't necessary to use, but it is designed for cable management and also as power plugs for FANs (you will need two JST XH 2.54).

Print Settings

Rafts:

No

Resolution:

0,2

Infill:

20% Gyroid

Filament: Prusament, Fiberlogy PETG, Nylon PA12+15%CF, PCBlend+CF

Notes:

Both parts of the body are easy to print. Cable holder is also simple, but for duct (fan shroud) I recommend to use ASA or Nylon material. Duct is close to the heater and one side could be degraded if you print it from the PETG, especially if you print ABS, ASA, Nylon, etc. with higher print temperature. I use for it Fiberlogy Nylon PA12 with 15% CF (or Prusament PCBlend with CF).

Print the Duct as shown on the picture. Is necessary to use enforcers support on few areas.

Great job. Any chance to have a version with autolev?
