Description

Summary

Free my models aadb6d0f

Some card games like Fantasy Flight Games ones are amazing but tend to use too much space on the table. This is my attempt to keep space usage at bay. These components are perfect for any LCG such as Arkham Horror: the Card Game, Marvel Champions: the Card Game, etc.

This system is modular, meaning that you can print as many elements as you need and connect them together using magnets (Neodimium N52 5mmx1mm like these).

Each element shall be printed as it would stand on the table (nozzle 0.40mm, normal speed, 1st layer 0.35mm, other layers 0.30mm). Notice that the grooves for magnets are somehow egg-shaped: this prevents PLA from melting down, leaving space for the magnets. Once cleaned from excess ooze, just secure a magnet in each slot with some superglue.

Attention: Make sure to keep the same orientation for the magnets or they might repulse each other instead of staying connected. Once you've installed the first magnet on the left/right and top/bottom side of the first element, make sure that the orientation of the magnet on any other adjacent elements is correct before securing it with the superglue.

The components included are as follows:

  • Modular Magnetic Token Tray: just a regular tray for tokens, print as many of them as you need. Notice that the ridge on top of one of the side that you can feel with your finger is meant to always sit away from you. It's been introduced to reveal its orientation to make sure that the magnets (if properly installed) with attract other adjacent elements. Printing time given a 0.4mm nozzle, 0.3mm layer (0.35mm for 1st layer), infill 10% and average speed of 30mm/s: 1h 30m.

  • Modular Magnetic Vertical Stand: a stand for vertical cards such as Scenario cards in Arkham Horror or Villain cards in Marvel Champions. It features a small ledge on the front to hold tokens (i.e.: resources as needed in The Depth of Yoth in Arkham Horror) and a small pocket on the back to keep some set aside cards. It can host naked cards, exact-fit sleeved cards and loose-fit sleeved cards. Printing time given a 0.4mm nozzle, 0.3mm layer (0.35mm for 1st layer), infill 10% and average speed of 30mm/s: 2h 30m.

  • Modular Magnetic Horizontal Stand: a stand for horizontal cards such as Agenda/Act Deck cards in Arkham Horror or Scheme cards in Marvel Champions. As its vertical counterpart, features a small ledge on the front to hold tokens (i.e.: doom in Arkham Horror) and a small pocket on the back to keep some set aside cards (i.e.: the Victory Display, specific of Arkham Horror). It can host naked cards, exact-fit sleeved cards and loose-fit sleeved cards. Printing time given a 0.4mm nozzle, 0.3mm layer (0.35mm for 1st layer), infill 10% and average speed of 30mm/s: 3h 20m.

  • Modular Magnetic Deck Holder: a deck holder that keeps the cards at an angle to ease the drawing and a back large pocket to store the discard pile vertically. It's ideal for Encounter decks such as in Arkham Horror or Marvel Champions, but also other decks (investigator decks and exploration decks in Arkham Horror, hero decks in Marvel Champions, etc.). It can host naked cards, exact-fit sleeved cards and loose-fit sleeved cards. Printing time given a 0.4mm nozzle, 0.3mm layer (0.35mm for 1st layer), infill 10% and average speed of 30mm/s: 5h 15m.
