I wanted to submit this for the Mother's Day contest but missed the final submission thinking I still had till midnight May 8. :(

It's a spring-powered self-opening gift box! Add confetti (or glitter if you want to be annoying) to the surprise! The large and wide size is guaranteed to fit a standard A7 greeting card, so you can put one in there. Use it to house presents for the holidays, birthdays, or any of your gifting occasions.

You can print the overall gift box in PLA just follow the video on assembly. PETG is preferable as it is a lot stronger so you can be rougher when building the parts together.

Large and Wide Design

• The large+wide fits A7 (5"x7") Greeting Cards with some room to spare.
• You can squeeze in A8 (5.5"x8") greeting cards. (GIF of the red enclosed includes an A8 size greeting card)
• Total space of 5x PS5 game cases plus extra space.

Regular Design

• It is a square shape; you can scale it accordingly to fit your needs. I personally tested it at 75% and 100% scale and assembled it just fine.

Side Covers

• There are 2 different side cover designs for each size; one fully encloses the top, and the other requires a top box cover.
• The design that fully encloses the top can be held by string/ribbon used for gift boxes. You can also print the top box cover and use that.

Springs

• The spring included is a shortened modified design from Mini Cute-but-Tough Shock Absorber by Steph_Nuggs as I found it to be the best and easiest to print spring design.
• The solid part at the top of the spring is a support that must be cut with wire cutters.
• The spring can be considered optional if you just want a simple gift box, but this is what allows the design to be self-opening.

Your textured plate and first-layer print determine the outside look of the gift box, so please clean your build plate (soap and water, not just wipe with alcohol), calibrate your printer, and increase bed temperature from the default profile settings by a minimum 5deg Celcius for adhesion. If you already know your printer well, you probably don't need this information. The chances of bad first-layer prints would only happen due to user error, especially on a self-calibrating Bambu printer.
