Description

I got this nice bike from Walmart marked down from $375 to $100 and the cast aluminum derailer mount broke in 1 week.

so I designed this part thicker and better supported around the mounting points for the derailer.

I printed mine with 12 wall loops and 20 top and bottom layers to be sure that it was solid to support the fasteners being tightened down on it.

I used JAYO PETG.

I also used a large pair of pliers to help force the main bolt into the last hole because it is printed without threads, so the bolt has to force its way in and form its own threads.

the threads are two fine of a pitch to be 3D printed anyway.

update…

I added a heavy duty version and slightly opened up the hole for the derailer pivot bolt to force its way in and form its own threads with out risking a crack from forcing it to expand.

also its just a lot more mass to make it stronger.
