Description

My very first light box ♥

This was my first attempt at making a lightbox, based on shurdle3D's awesome tutorial video.

The 3MF/profile has all the settings to print properly on a textured PEI sheet.

If you want to assemble it directly, import all the ‘face’ parts together and change the colors as described in the object name. “GitD” is my shorthand for “glow in the dark” as I'm trying to use up some old Hatchbox filament. The rest I used eSun PLA+ (black and warm white) for.

I printed at 0.20mm, and suggest doing so face-down on a textured PEI plate. The attached 3MF was made in Bambu Studio 1.7x and has all my other suggested settings (one wall on first layer, small first layer lines, extra flow on first layer, higher wall/infill overlap, etc) to really blend it all together. This is only necessary on the Face part, as the Base does not need the extra detail. The 3MF also makes the band on the side 100% solid by way of a height modifier for extra glow-in-the-dark goodness, you may want to change this (reduce the wall count from 3 to 2 and remove the infill) if you are just using white, as it may be dull if printed completely solid (making it solid at 2.4mm thick).

Assembly of the light was done with some leftover 12v COB LEDs and a spare 5521 DC jack that bolts in to the ∅10.8mm hole. I honestly don't recommend the 12v COB LEDs unless you have a controller to run them at a lower power, since they get hot. 5v LEDs work better!

I put the DC jack hole on the side so this guy can stand upright on a table or be hung on a wall on a common thumbtack via the keyhole cut in the base.
