Description

I made this model as I could not find any other plate that I felt trying like 500g of filament on.

I would recommend using five wall loops, five top/ bottom shells and 20% gyroid infill.

There could be some light sanding needed to fit both parts together.

The two halves can just be clicked together (some force is required) and then be fully secured with three m3 bolts.

Please feel free to leave advice or ideas.

Hi! I'm looking at giving this a go but wondered something. Would it be possible to give it a slight concave inner face, so it forms to the chest shape slightly better than a flat surface? This would give it less chance of breaking when held tight to you. It wouldn't need much at all, just slightly curved inwards!

Sorry for the late reply! Yeah, I thought about that too, but for my taste it would be too difficult to print - supports ect. Ergonomically I personally don’t feel any difference to a slightly curved plate and strengthwise there is nothing to worry about as it‘s intended to print lying and not standing.

No worries, thanks for the reply. That makes sense. Did you print it out of PLA? I might give PETG a go given its a little more flexible.

Yeah, I used PLA as I has some left over. But PETG should work fine too, I usually use PETG for all of what I print.

It‘s a small one (22cm x 30cm or 8,66“ x 11,81“) but you can scale it to your desired size.
