Description

Bringing this over from my printables page to share the dominion love with my bambu fam. Description is taken directly from my printables page.

Despite there being several different versions of Dominion (or other Eurogame) card holders out there I decided to take a stab at making one from scratch for me as none of the ones out there really suited what I wanted exactly. I had a few primary wants in a card holder.

First, I wanted them to fit sleeved cards. There are already a few different sleeved designs out there and I've been using one of them for quite sometime and they are great. I use the Mayday Games 7028 Clear Sleeves 59x92mm Euro Game Size sleeves. The ones I have already printed fit these great, but my friends who I play dominion with use sleeves that are ever so slightly larger and don't fit the holders I have. I wanted something that would accommodate both as the size difference is only about 1mm.

Second, I wanted the flexibility to arrange some cards (events, landmarks, etc.) perpendicular to the rest. The current locking mechanisms, while sleek, don't allow for this.

Third, there was a lack of variety and flexibility in card capacity sizes. Some holders were very specialized with 7 or 8 different sizes and others just had 3, but required using a much bigger size for some cards that only needed a little wiggle room. For example cards like rats were spilling out of the smallest size and the middle size was overkill. These holders are all a bit larger and accommodate for more wiggle room. I may add a another size as I play through this for cards like horses and rats, but for now these 3 sizes seem to do the trick.

As an added change, I added some curves to meet the sharp edges. The current card holders were all very utilitarian, but I wanted to add an homage to the cuts and curves you see on the shield logo.

Probably and possible future additions: Compatible coin tray holders. Another size (in between the 14mm and 22mm sizes). Universal player mats to eliminate the need for all of the mats for cards and tokens (This was close, then allies got released adding favors).

All print with no supports needed. Tested in PLA and PETG.

If these appeal to you, please print and share feedback. I designed them for what I wanted and wasn't trying to reinvent the wheel, but rather design a wheel more to my liking. I'm very much a design novice, so please share any feedback or suggestions you might have!

Awesome job on this set, this is exactly what I wanted for my Dominion set! One suggestion is to reverse angel of the of the right and left (longest sides) so when stacking holders they settle and wont slip as easily. The interlocking is perfect, love how they can be flipped to be sideways too!
