Description

Pilea peperomioides, also known as the Chinese money plant, is an aesthetically pleasing plant. Whether you print it for yourself or someone else, it will surely elevate any interior.

Description and assembly

The model comes in two sizes and contains these objects: pot, soil, main plant stem, 12 leaf stems and 12 leaves.

Assembly is very easy. No magnets or glue are needed. Soil goes in the pot, main plant stem goes in the soil, leaf stems go into the main plant stem and leaves go on top of the leaf stems.

The assembled model has approx dimensions: 15x15x25cm (small) and 20x20x30cm (large).

About the model

The model is divided in several objects:

  • Plant pot – You can choose 5 different pot designs.
  • Soil – Contains one hole for plant stem.
  • Plant stem
  • Leaf stems – Supports are needed only for the tips of the stems.
  • Leaves – There are 12 leaves. You can choose to print all green leaves or variegated ones. The variegated leaves are divided into parts and pre-colored. While printing the leaves there will be 11 color changes.

Colors:

I printed leaves in leaf green, venom green and white. The leaf stems are leaf green, the plant stem and the soil are dark brown, and the pot is white/gray.

Pot designs:

You can choose five different pot designs.

Print profiles and suggestions

Printing suggestions:

  • Use slighty higher nozzle and bed temperature for the first layer when printing leaves to have fewer gaps between colors
  • Print slower for better quality, set initial layer and initial layer infill to 50 mm/s, outer wall, inner wall and top surface to 100 mm/s
  • Supports are needed only for the tips of the leaf stems and they are already drawn on the model

Suggestions for Orca slicer 2.0.0. or above:

  • Use scarf seam for printing the pot. With scarf seam the pot is almost seamless. Use these settings in Quality tab:
    • Outer wall width: 0.6mm,
    • Scarf joint seam: Contour,
    • Conditional scarf joint: on,
    • Wall generator: Arachne,
    • Wall printing order: Inner/Outer/Inner.
  • Print the stems with Mouse ear type of brim.
  • Up the Bottom surface flow ratio to 1.2 so the leaves (printed face-down) have no gaps between colors.
