Description

circular knitting machine

This is an advanced print and you should know a bit about knitting - it will not work by its own!

prepare the needles by folding (print on flat surface)

inserting needles at the topmost cam position - use some grease for smooth movement

start with threading every second needle

Turn slowly and check every stich

printed fine, the only problems are that the needles are a little too fragile and that it is really hard to turn, i even tried sanding it a little (maybe it's just a problem in my print, but it does work)

The N8 version (raw files) has thicker needles and a bit more clearance, Using some PTFE grease or spray will reduce friction too. But if filament is a little wet or thicker/different material/ there can be some differences you can reduce flow a little to compensate for this, I once had a failed print that had a outer ring with inconsistent inner diameter of half a mm not sure why.

I am working on one but not so simple as it turns out and thanks to the downvote from @acevalsl I am not getting any print rewards for this model anymore.

This is nuts. One downvote does this? I liked it better the way it was before the boosts.

There are only two votes 5 and 2 so this is 3.5 and if you are below 4 you don't get print rewards - but more annoying is that he didn't gave any reason for the downvote and as complex prints will always have a lot people that will have problems - the consequence is to only upload "easy" prints to makerworld.

Other Issues:it just falls apart when I use it and I printed it with carbon fiber filament

So there is a PETg print profile that you rate with 1/5 because you printed it with CF - CF is a bad choice as the rough surface make thread stick, the needles have a film hinge which will not work in CF. And what parts falls apart? Did you print CF with 0.08 layer?

what part brakes exactly - you can never use any force turning it.

You can use the N8 (8 needles) and the scad script can be used to make other sizes - what number of needles you like me to upload?

Definitely some tolerance issues but solved with some scaling and post processing. Printed in eSun PLA+

Sorry you have tolerance issues - the design was made for 0.15 clearance version2 has 0.17 but you can change that if you need more.

Printed on A1 using the provided profile. Might be eSun's PLA+ but the needles really didn't fit even with some post processing. Had to scale the needles down by 5% and reprint to have them fit and move smoothly. Otherwise a great design.

hard to work with bigger strings and for beginners

Yes, there is a bigger (N8) version but thick thread is still an issue and it doesn't work 100% automatically, at least you need to check if a stich was fallen. With some sanding and coating you can improve the reliability. I also had different results with different thread material (and thickness).
