Description

Mount a dashcam or electronics in your Toyota vehicle's front windshield using only the stock mirror bracket.

No suction cups or drilling required! This mount securely attaches directly to the existing bracket built into windshield.

The modular device attachment point fits all devices with a common GoPro style mount. A blank universal mount is provided for customization for your device needs.

If you power your device from the vehicle fuse box using a fuse tap, you may find the free Power Distribution Fuse Box Extended Cover useful for covering the fuse box if the original fuse cover is too low and no longer fits.

Printing:

  • No supports required.
  • 100% infill.
  • Printing in PC/PETG/ABS recommended for hot climates. PLA may work in colder climates.

Mounting:

Parts needed:

QuantityPart
1M5 x 16mm bolt
1M3 x 18mm bolt (16-20mm length recommended)
2M5 nuts

Steps:

  • Print the Mount Arm, Nut Holder, and any device specific adapters with GoPro style attachment.
  • Pre-thread the Nut Holder hole for M5 bolts by screwing and unscrewing an M5 bolt in the Nut Holder hole.
  • Fit the device specific adapter into the Mount Arm modular mount.
  • Place a M5 nut in the hexagonal hole located on the passenger side of the modular mount.
  • Insert a M5 x 18mm bolt through the driver side of the modular mount and tighten it into the M5 nut on the opposite side.
  • Remove the upper interior rear view mirror cover.
    • Bend the rear view mirror down for more space.
    • Hold the upper outside edge of the upper (smaller) cover and slowly pull down towards the ground to unclasp the two clips on the left and right of the cover.
    • Slide the rear view mirror cover out.
  • Place a M5 nut in the hexagonal hole on the back of the Nut Holder.
  • Slide the printed Nut Holder with the hexagonal hole facing the windshield into the empty bracket on the driver's side of the rear mirror mount.
  • Place the Mount Arm over the front of the bracket with the oval hole lining up with the hole in the bracket.
  • Insert a M5 x 16mm bolt through the Mount Arm front oval hole and gently but firmly tighten it into the Nut Holder. 16mm is the maximum recommended length for this bolt!
  • Mount your device to the adapter. Premade device mounts can be found in the model files section of the listing. The universal mount file can be modified to fit your device if a mount does not exist already (please share your mount so that others may find it useful!).
  • Replace the upper interior rear view mirror cover. Re-adjust the rear view mirror.
