Description

I wanted to adapt my Ecowitt temperature and humidity sensor so that it can fit in the AMS for my BambuLab X1C.

This 3 part enclosure refits the electronica for the Ecowitt WH31/WN31 Temperature and humidity sensor.

Dimensions are 75Hx42Wx30D mm

Everything is re-used from the original house, including screws, battery terminals and the screen cover. The RF channel selection is easily accessible.

Guide

  1. Unscrew the housing. Keep the screws
  2. Carefully remove the wire from the battery terminals
  3. remove the PCB. you might need to cut away the glue the seals the sensor and the antenna.
  4. remove the display
  5. Push the plastic screen cover out from behind. This requires a bit of force, but it will come off.
  6. Install the display cover, the display, the plastic screen housing and the display cover to the new enclosure.
  1. You may need to extent the wires or replace them. I soldered new wires to the top of the PCB. I Also used terminal clips where the wires connect to the battery terminals (see photos). You could just solder straight to the terminals, but you risk melting the PLA.
  1. Connect the battery housing to the PCB enclosure (original screws)

The .3mf file here uses PETG as the support interface material, this makes the supports easy to remove. You may need to change this is you don't have multi material compatibility.

These sensors (with a bit of IT know how) allow me to monitor real time and historical temperature and historical data, with alerting if the humidly remains to high for to long
