Description

The hurricane Airsoft grenade is designed to be a functional part of you Airsoft CQB kit.

the primary design features are as follows:

  • easy to print and assemble
  • Minimal non 3D printed components
  • Durable
  • True to life sizing.
  • easily replaceable parts should a breaking occur

The model is designed around the military issued m84 thunder flash and is correct in dimensions.

currently the design works with standard toy cap rings, firing 8 shots at once to produce a loud bang, i am currently working on 2 other versions: one that will fire 16 shots for added volume and one that fires 209 shotgun primers.

The model is comprised of the following parts:

  • main body
  • firing chamber (interchangeable for 16 shot or blank firing model)
  • Fuse head
  • spoon
  • sear
  • striker
  • striker plate

Required non prited parts

  • *Airsoft AEG spring cut to length (recommended M100 untested with other strengths)
  • M3 bolt, approximately 30mm length
  • 2x M4 grub screws
  • **5mm metal rod cut to length

*other springs will work however these are not tested nor confirmed.

** m5threaded rod is a further option but untested, plastic rod may also work but again untested.

Optional Non printed parts

  • 1.5mm Pin of your choice (recommended for safety)
  • small spring to release spoon (spoon will still function without this)

Assembly is very simple,

  1.  cut rod to length (approximately 80-85mm
  2. cut spring to length (50-55mm)
  3. file a small notch into the rod approximately 5mm from one end (this allows the sear grub screw to purchase on the rod without overtightening and strillping the threads
  4. slide sear over the rod at the end with the notch and secure using M4 grub screw
  5. drop rod + sear through the top of the head allowing the sear to drop into the recess
  6. slide cut to length spring over rod at the bottom of the head, ensuring the cut end is seating on the head side.
  7. compress spring and slide striker onto the bottom of the rod securing with M4 grub screw
  8. secure spoon to head using m3 bolt (recess provided for bolt head)
  9. all other parts thread together and should be self explanitary.

Using the Grenade:

  • load cap ring onto firing chamber ensuring all 8 shots are seated onto the 8 prongs.
  • place striker plate on top of caps ensuring post goes into the hole on the firing chamber.
  • push firing chamber into body and thread together hand tight.
  • push up on striker on the fuse head, this will compress the spring and cock the sear to one side in the head, friction and spring pressure should hold this in place.
  • lower spoon into place and insert pin, the fuse is now Safe and cannot fire accidentally
  • thread the head into the body.
  • once the pin is pulled the grenade is Live and will go off at the next impact unless the spoon is held in Place,  throw the greade underarm into a room or corridor and collect your kills!
