Description

The parametric saw blade holder model allows you to print a holder for any quantity of blades, of any dimension not exceeding your printer plate size. The holder will protect the blades from damage, and the spacers will keep the blades from damaging each other.

There are 4 parts:

  1. plate is the main component
  2. spacer prevents the blades from damaging each other. You need one fewer spacers than blades
  3. screw holds everything together
  4. washer is optional: if the screw alone doesn't hold the blades firmly against the plate, add the washer

The STL files are for a 6.5" blade with 0.625" bore. To use the customizer, you will need to have BOSL2 package installed https://github.com/BelfrySCAD/BOSL2 along with OpenSCAD.

I was able to change the file to snuggly fit a stack of blades for my little saw. I then printed a second base, enlarging it so the ID matched the OD of the previous base. I also changed the hole size to "0". The end result is a cover for the blades. I plan to use rubber bands to hold it together (at least for now).. Great design, thank you!

really good blade organizer/protector. would be nice to have a step file as I don't know how to use OpenSCAD.

OpenSCAD cannot output a STEP file, that would require a complete redesign. Search youtube for "Openscad customizer tutorial", you'll have your STL files in 15 minutes.

If you click "Download or print", then "Download STL", the scad file is available.
