Description

Version 2 of my quick swap filament label.

I liked how Shaztech's RFID clip fit onto Bambu spools, so I remixed and adapted it for a 2 piece labelling system.

This is great if you rewind filament onto the Bambu reusable spools or dislike messing with adhesive labels.

Features

  • Snaps onto the spool. No permanent changes or damage.
  • Label any filament type and/or brand.
  • Multi-color and Single-color files are included - AMS NOT REQUIRED!
  • Works inside of the AMS!
  • No supports needed. Print in the 3MF project file default orientation.
  • (1) 2-piece multi-color label takes approximately 27 minutes to print.

Printing

  • Provided print profiles are recommended.
  • Print at 0.20mm layer height with 0.4mm nozzle.
  • Do not use supports.
  • Each file has a plate for multi-color printing and a plate for single-color printing.
  • To edit the text, right-click on "Filament_BRAND" or "Filament_TYPE" and select "Edit Text".
In the window that pops up, you can change the size and input your own text.

Attaching to Spool

  1. Simply snap one half into the center of the spool. It only fits on the side with the inside lip.
The outer end has a peg that fits into one of the holes in the spool to keep it aligned.
NOTE: The label needs to be parallel to the line of holes in the spool. This means there are only 4 correct positions to install the label.
  2. Snap in the other half.

I am a beginner. At first, I made a spaghetti error because I adjusted the height wrong. Second, I used a font that was too thin to print properly. I was very happy that the final print was successful in the end.

Yes, there's no need to adjust anything but the font and font size. I find that the font "GOST 26.008-85" 3D prints very well if you can find the .TTF file on the internet.

Would be cool to have it for non Bambu spools

Which brands? That can quickly become a big project, since there are so many different spools 🙂
