Description

This model was created using the XY joint model included in BootyCall jones' K1 "Flanged Bearing Gantry Project" and Henlor's "Creality K1 CAD Model".

One of the pulleys used in the XY joint has been replaced with a geared one, so some dimensions may be slightly different.
The changed idler is  13mm 16t idler .

The assembly method is generally as described in the installation manual of the "Flanged Bearing Gantry Project", but use a toothed pulley only where the teeth of the timing belt of the XY joint contact the pulley.

When installing the carriage, use M3 heat insert nuts with an outside diameter of 4.2 mm and a length of 6 mm and M2 heat insert nuts with an outside diameter of 3.2 mm and a length of 4 mm.

Although the XY joint and carriage have been modified to avoid the use of imo screws, a total of six additional M3x8mm countersunk screws are required to secure the linear rail.

The linear rail used is MGN12H, 320mm.

I am sorry that I could not create a manual for this model since I originally made it only for my own use.

Please try using it if you like!

Why didn't you replace the motor pulleys? Installing 20T pulleys will significantly reduce VFA and increase accelerations.

I am aware that replacing the motor pulleys can indeed reduce VFA (Vibration Frequency Amplitude). However, I have already invested quite a bit in this K1 printer. Additionally, I’ve recently purchased a new printer, and I’m considering retiring the K1. Therefore, I’ve decided to halt further modifications for now.

Ok, then I understand. VFA is Vertical Fine Artifacts though.

You didn't mention it anywhere but judging by the size of the idler opening this is designed for a 13mm 16t idler yeah?

That is correct! You very well got it! I didn't describe it in detail because I didn't think anyone would use this mod! I used this toothed pulley! (https://ja.aliexpress.com/item/32796878074.html)

I see passive heatsinks on the motors. Had the same, did almost nothing till I added 3x Sunon MF40202V21000UA99. Temps for my E3d 0.9° high torque steppers (@1.5v) dropped from 85°C (!!) to 55°C. It was close to melt the ABS mounts when printing high temp filament, bed heats them up quickly. Mainboard has an empty connector, you can connect all 3 to it and configure them to run when steppers are working. For example: [controller_fan stepper_fans] pin:PA0 max_power: 1 shutdown_speed: 0 cycle_time: 0.0100 hardware_pwm: false fan_speed: 1.0 stepper: stepper_x, stepper_x, stepper_z

Your decision to actively cool the passive heatsinks on the motors is indeed a very reasonable and commendable suggestion! However, I’ve already made significant investments in this K1 printer. Additionally, I’ve recently purchased a new printer, and I’m considering retiring the K1. Therefore, I’ve decided to halt further modifications for now.
